Experience Bergen's most classic Christmas parties and Christmas meals

Do you want to experience the spirit of Christmas just like at home in your own living room (but without all the preparation!) and arrive to a set table, classic Christmas food, and plenty of room for everyone you want to invite? Then Grand Hotel Terminus is a superb choice.

You put the presents down in the hallway, hang up your coat and the children's puffer jackets. The smell of pork ribs wafts from the kitchen. The potatoes are simmering, and the dining table is covered with a white tablecloth and red napkins, accompanied by generations of homemade gnomes.

Grandma and grandpa welcome everyone open arms. Hugs are exchanged. The grown-ups get a glass of bubbly in their hand. That's what it's like to come home for Christmas. And that's exactly what it's like to come home to Bergen's 'Grand Old Lady' too.

Christmas parties in historic surroundings

Grand Hotel Terminus is a historic hotel located right next to Bergen's train station, and within walking distance of the city's exciting Christmas market and UNESCO-listed Bryggen.

Bergen got its Grand Hotel in 1928, and the hotel has since offered some of the city's most exclusive accommodation, and a source of pride for the locals.

The hotel has recently been completely renovated, and also houses Bar Amundsen, where polar explorer Roald Amundsen held his last press conference before disappearing without a trace in 1928 during a rescue mission in the Arctic. Today, Bar Amundsen has Bergen's most impressive and comprehensive whisky collection.

There is nothing cozier than gathering in front of the fireplace before the Christmas party.

Christmas meals with pinnekjøtt, pork ribs, or lutefisk (and more!)

The bar is a perfect place to kick off your Christmas party - whether you are getting together with colleagues, friends or family. Sip something really delicious in your glass, served by skilled bartenders, while you relax in front of the fireplace.

Next, enjoy a traditional Christmas meal consisting of pinnekjøtt (traditional salt-cured lamb ribs), pork ribs, lutefisk, Christmas sausages, medisterkaker (traditional pork meatballs), and a dessert buffet. Don't worry - there are plenty of less local (but equally delicious) options from our a la carte menu too!

Grand Hotel Terminus has rooms for smaller gatherings, as well as private parties for companies and larger Christmas parties. The hotel can host up to 230 people per group.

No matter what kind of party you are arranging, we are always on hand to help with planning and Christmas menus. Our service and hospitality are a constant reminder that you have come home to the city's 'Grand Old Lady'.
