Speilbaren has a new menu

Speilbaren has a new concept and is moving from fine dining to 'fun dining.

Speilbaren has now launched a new concept and a brand new menu. The focus is still on wine from its first-class cellar, as well as exciting cocktails and light, locally sourced dishes. And the inviting atmosphere is the same as before: a New York vibe in the heart of Bergen's city centre.

"But we're now going from fine dining to 'fun dining'," says concept developer Giovanni at Speilbaren.

The goal is to make the restaurant accessible for even more occasions and guests. You can now choose between two unique options: the first is a relaxed bar experience with tasty light dishes, wine from the exclusive cellar and some of Bergen's best cocktails, where skilled sommeliers provide exciting and tailored recommendations.

Or you can gather your group of friends for an exclusive dinner in its chambre séparée, a private room where you will be served a tailor-made menu created by the restaurant's skilled chefs.

"Speibaren wishes to create a sophisticated but pleasant atmosphere, where good food and drink take centre stage," says Emanuele.

Local ingredients and afterwork

Giovanni is keen to share more details about the new concept:

"We are still fully focused on local ingredients and on maintaining a high level of culinary quality. The biggest difference is that our guests can now choose exactly which dishes they want, and decide the number of dishes themselves," he says and adds:

"The restaurant no longer sticks to one fixed menu, a change which makes Speilbaren more accessible to everyone."

Giovanni also wants the restaurant to be a meeting place for friends and colleagues and sees it as the perfect spot for afterwork in the centre of Bergen.

A restaurant in a historic building

Located on the third floor of the venerable Bergen Børs Hotel, Speilbarens premises exude charm and history.

Speilbaren is located in Speilsalen, which was originally part of the former stock exchange building. The hall from the late 1800s is known for its grand interior, soaring ceiling, large mirrors and chandeliers, and design details that reflect the building's rich architectural heyday.

"With us, guests get a genuine local experience, thanks to our historic venue in the middle of Bergen city centre and our carefully selected, local ingredients," says the restaurant's concept developer.
